There is a book I am reading by David Jeremiah, "Where Do We Go From Here? - How Tomorrow's Prophecies Foreshadow Today's Problems"....well, that's not where I am going with this article, of course., but the title is certainly fitting and I think I will "borrow it". This is about the 501c3 NonProfit Pet Protection Organization: "Pets Uniting People Society" and where it's going in the future.
Where I am taking this story (article) is exactly what the question states: "where do we go from here?" After planning the "Autumn Leaves" event, the Board Members come down from an emotional high and then, "splat"...comes the lows and the big question, where do we go from here?
It is not easy thinking about how we can scramble with the never-ending need for finances for the endless neuters/spays that are required for countless strays and even some owned pets when the owners are in a financial bind. Why do we feel overwhelmed and hopeless at the future for the animals and the people who love them? It doesn't have to be this way. As Stacey Picolo stated in her article in the current edition of "PUPS' On a Mission" it takes a village, maybe I should go further and say, "it takes a 'world' to make a difference in the lives of the animals and the people who love them". PUPS cannot go it alone.
I have placed some picture highlights of the PUPS' event from Saturday, October 16th and hope you enjoy them. On behalf of the PUPS' Team, I would like to thank every event attendee, donor and sponsor in regards to our auction. It is greatly appreciated!
Help us go forward and do well all through the year and not just during the fundraiser month (October).
Gratefully,
Carolyn, PUPS' Director
